Sickle Cell Disease Virtual Summit by Sickle Cell Disease Virtual Summit 2021

November 5&6, 2021 10 AM – 3 PM (Both days) Online – Zoom Join us for the 2021 Sickle Cell Disease Summit featuring two days of patient and caregiver panels, presentations, and Q&As with top Ontario hospitals, including University Health Network, SickKids, North York General Hospital, Michael Garron Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital, McMaster Hospital, and more!

This event will bring together the sickle cell disease patient community, health care providers and health system leaders, researchers, and advocates.

After participating in this two-day program, participants will:

Be aware of existing clinical guidelines for the care of patients living with sickle cell disease

Appreciate the impact of stigma as a barrier to care and ways community members and healthcare providers can address this and other barriers to care

Be able to adapt existing care protocols to their own clinical setting

Be able to identify key resources in the development or expansion of existing sickle cell protocols

This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, approved by Continuing Professional Development, Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. You may claim a maximum of 8 hours (credits are automatically calculated).
