Program Lead – Education

Full Time

The Program Lead – Education will oversee the planning, delivery, growth, and evaluation of OCO’s key caregiver education resources and programs. We are looking for someone who is self-directed and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where they will help to develop new learning resources and opportunities, improve the availability of and access to caregiver education programs while growing the number of caregivers served by OCO.

For this role, we are looking for an experienced professional with deep knowledge of caregiver needs, adult learning principles and program planning, implementation, and evaluation. The successful candidate will have demonstrated skills in program management, planning and implementing webinar events, developing new educational assets, communicating to lay audiences, developing and analyzing evaluation surveys, monitoring for quality improvement, and internal and external stakeholder relationship management. The incumbent will be organized and detail-oriented, flexible, collaborative, and committed to ensuring caregivers in Ontario have access to education resources and programs reflective of their role and needs. This role also demands insight into the social determinants of health and the ability to apply the lens of diversity, equity and inclusion when developing educational solutions to engage and reach all caregivers. Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director, Programs and Services, the Program Lead – Education is responsible for:   

  • Development of new educational resources including e-learning modules, videos, infographics, written content and other formats
  • Coordination and administration of all aspects OCO’s Webinar Program including presenter research and recruitment, event planning, registration, promotional material development, live event delivery, post-event follow-up, and event evaluation
  • Implementation and management of a direct-to-subscriber weekly educational e-letter program aimed at caregivers
  • Development of educational workshops in collaboration with and to be delivered by Regional Leads across the province
  • Development of strategies to reach more caregivers especially currently underserved caregiver populations
  • Ongoing collection, organization, and reporting of program metrics and participant feedback for quarterly reporting to the Ministry of Health, the OCO Board of Directors and other funders, as required
  • Program monitoring and evaluation to assess impact and inform continuous improvement in the pursuit of achieving key organizational performance and client outcomes
  • Relationship management with vendors related to webinar production services, the e-letter program, administration of OCO’s Learning Management System (LMS), and eLearning course development
  • Oversight of volunteers recruited to assist with education programs and services work
  • Arranging for French language translations of new or updated content related to the programs and resources managed by the Program Lead- Education
  • Evergreening and refreshing existing resources as new research data, legislation and changes within the system emerge
  • Facilitation of working groups or focus groups comprised of caregivers, as needed
  • Support to other OCO team members requiring educational expert input
  • Other work as assigned

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree preferred in public health education, social sciences, or education with an emphasis on educational program and resource development, community development, determinants of health, needs assessments, program evaluation, and adult learning principles
  • Demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of caregiver needs Minimum 5 years related experience in a similar role preferably in a community, health care or social services setting
  • Strong organizational, program and project management, and time management skills managing multiple competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven experience in program administration/coordination and virtual learning environments
  • Strong technical ability and proficiency in the use of computers and various software applications, in particular Microsoft Office/Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams; Zoom webinar and meeting technology; Eventbrite; and Survey Monkey (a plus if familiar with Moodle)
  • Proven experience with resource and program planning, focus group and working group facilitation, and co-design methods
  • Understanding of and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to caregiver engagement, education and supports
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Support for the mission and values of OCO
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a virtual environment
  • Bilingual English and French a definite asset
