Teepa Snow Online Caregiver Support Series by Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County

The Dementia Society is excited to offer a five-session online series designed for those who provide support to their loved ones living with dementia. The series provides an educational forum using Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach to Care and is co-facilitated by Teepa Snow certified Coaches and Consultants. The sessions are intended to be interactive and exploratory, encouraging and assisting participants to apply what they’ve learned to their own unique situations.

The virtual format allows for participation from the comfort of one’s own home or another location of choice, thus not requiring any type of travel. With minimal equipment needed for participation– all you need is a computer or laptop with a microphone and a camera, with access to the internet. The online platform used to connect – Zoom – is easy to use, and free.

The series occurs over 5 sessions on Fridays from 10:30am-12:00pm beginning August 13th and ending September 10th. Participants must be available to attend all 5 sessions and have access to an electronic device with a webcam.

Due to limited amount of space, this educational series is offered for caregivers who have not previously participated in this online training only- The online series is recommended for caregivers supporting people in mid to late stage dementia. Not intended for professionals working with people who have Dementia.
