The Ontario Caregiver Organization (OCO) is pleased to be working with The Ontario Hospital Association on evolving its family presence policy during COVID-19.

Caregivers play an invaluable role in the delivery of care to a family member, partner, friend or neighbour. The COVID-19 pandemic has created a number of challenges for family caregivers and those they support, particularly with respect to visitation and access in hospitals and long-term care homes.

The Ontario Caregiver Organization (OCO) is pleased to be working with The Ontario Hospital Association on evolving its family presence policy during COVID-19. This work will specifically look at recognizing the role of caregivers and creating and sharing the information caregivers need to stay safe while at the hospital.  Simultaneously, the Ontario Caregiver Organization is also working with other partners across the healthcare continuum, such as long term care and other congregate living environments to enhance protocols related to caregiver access.

The OCO will continue to keep caregivers updated through our website and our e-Newsletter. Subscribe to our e-Newsletter here.
