  • Hospitals and long-term care homes – these are the responsibility of the Ministry’s Patient Ombudsman.
  • Self-regulating professions such as doctors, nurses, dentists, chiropractors and other health professions.

Patient Ombudsman

The Ministry’s Patient Ombudsman facilitates resolutions and investigates patient and caregiver complaints – without taking sides – about patient care and health care experiences in public hospitals, long-term care homes and home and community care services coordinated by the LHINs (including services formerly coordinated by the CCACs).
