Music, mental health and wellbeing for caregivers
Intended audience
As a family member or caregiver, we understand that your loved one’s mental health or substance use health can have a significant impact on you. The Royal’s family information and support events are intended for family members or caregivers of individuals with a mental health or substance use health issue. These events are an opportunity to learn from our experts, find out about available resources, and connect with others who share a similar experience. There is no cost to participate but registration is required.

Music generates profound and meaningful experiences and enhances people’s life. Engaging in music is a rich human experience that affects people’s health and brings psychological, physiological and social wellbeing. This presentation will cover the following:
- Overview of what research is saying on the benefits of engaging in music activities for caregivers who are supporting a loved one.
- Discussion on what music activities you would like to have access to – how could we develop music programs that would respond to your needs.
Participants will take away information on how to integrate music in their life to increase their wellbeing.
